Director of Research (CNRS)
Nicolas Blanchard received his Ph.D. from the Université Paris VI in 2000. After postdoctoral studies at Michigan University, he joined the CNRS as Chargé de Recherche in 2002 and became Directeur de Recherche at the University of Strasbourg in 2013. His research program currently focuses on total synthesis of polyketides (especially mycolactones), copper catalysis, nitrogen-substituted alkynes, and cycloaddition reactions.

Researcher (CNRS)
Vincent Bizet received his PhD from the INSA of Rouen (France) in 2012. After postdoctoral studies at RWTH Aachen University and then at Geneva University, he joined the CNRS as « Chargé de recherche » at University of Strasbourg in 2016. His research interest currently focus on the development of transition-metal-catalyzed synthetic methodologies.

Nicolas Brach began studying chemistry at IUT Robert Schuman in Illkirch-Graffenstaden (FR), then moved to the Faculté de Chimie in Strabourg (FR) where he graduated in 2019 ; he obtained a Master’s degree in molecular and supramolecular chemistry. In 2019, he joined the team of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet inside the “Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methodologies” lab as a Ph.D student to work on heterochemistry, with a specialization in ihDA/rDA reactions.

Vincent Debrauwer studied chemistry at University of Toulouse (FR) for 2 years then he moved to CPE Lyon (FR) where he graduated in 2017. During his studies he did a 3 months’ internship in the group of Prof. Batey at University of Toronto (CA) (2013). He did his industrial work placement at Origenis (2015-2016) in Munich (DE) for one year and his master internship at the University of Lyon in the laboratory of Dr. Thierry Billard under the supervision of Dr. Anis Tlili. In 2018, he joined the team “Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methodologies” within the “Laboratoire d’Innovation Moléculaire et Application” (LIMA, UMR 7042) at the University of Strasbourg (FR) to do his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet.

Lénaïc Rummler started his studies in chemistry at the IUT of Strasbourg (Fr) for 2 years. He obtained a master’s degree in molecular and Supramolecular chemistry at University of Strasbourg in 2019. He did an industrial work placement at PolyPeptids Group (Fr – 2016) in R&D for 5 months. During his master, he did internships in the team “Synthèse Organique Métallocatalysée et Hétérochimie” in the “Laboratoire d’Innovation Thérapeutique” (LIT, UMR 7200) at the University of Strasbourg on the development of methodologies and syntheses of alkaloids structure with domino reaction. In 2019, he joined the team “Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methodologies” in the “Laboratoire d’Innovation Moléculaire et Application” (LIMA, UMR 7042) at the University of Strasbourg (Fr) to do his PhD on the development of transition-metal-catalyzed synthetic methodologies under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet.

Qiaolan Yang was born in China. She obtained a master’s degree in chemistry Engineering at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2019. She did Medicinal chemistry as a joint training student at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, during which time she carry out the research and treatment of mental illness drugs. In 2020, she joined the team “Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methodologies” in the “Laboratoire d’Innovation Moléculaire et Application” (LIMA, UMR 7042) at the University of Strasbourg (Fr) under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet.

Chunyang Zhang was born at 1989 in China and studied chemistry at the Henan University and the Zhengzhou University. Then she obtained a CSC scholarship and started her Ph.D. study in the Free University of Brussels and the University of Strasbourg under the supervision of Prof. Gwilherm Evano and Dr. Nicolas Blanchard. Now her research focuses on the development of new cyclization reactions based on ynamides.

Master 2 Student
Logan Charton studied chemistry in Metz (Universite de Lorraine) and then in Strasbourg where he is currently a master 2 student in Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry. After his Master 1 internship in the « Synthese Organique Metallocatalysee et Heterochimie » group within the « Laboratoire d’Innovation Therapeutique » (LIT, UMR7200) on pallado-catalyzed cascade reactions, he joined in January 2020 the « Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methods » group within the « Laboratoire d’Innovation Moleculaire et Applications » (LIMA, UMR7042) for his Master 2 internship under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet.
Vince was born in the Alsatian countryside in 2018 and joined the research group thereafter.
Vince’s main interests are sleeping while curled into a ball (up to 15 hours a day), eating leaves, slowly visiting his new Lab and catalytic asymmetric synthesis.
