Laura MARCHAND
Laura Marchand studied chemistry at the University of Grenoble-Alpes where she obtained her M.Sc. in 2017 and her Ph.D. in 2021. Her doctoral research focused on the synthesis of natural compounds, specifically jomthonic acid and the development of new methodologies, under the supervision of Prof. Jean-François Poisson. In 2022, she joined the group of Dr. Fréderic Bihel in Strasbourg for a one-year post-doctoral fellowship, working under the supervision of Dr. Martine Schmitt in medicinal chemistry, focusing on the synthesis of molecules active against Wolfram disease. After this postdoctoral position, she joined the start-up Biodol for 6 months, under the supervision of Dr. Didier Rognan, where she worked on developing compounds for the treatment of chronic pain. She has now moved to the UHA in Mulhouse as a Research Engineer, where she is supervising the creation of the High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) Center, under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard. This HTE platform aims at accelerating the discovery of photo-induced processes for molecular and materials chemistry.
