David MATCHAVARIANI

David Matchavariani obtained a master’s degree in molecular and supramolecular chemistry at the University of Strasbourg in 2022. He did his master’s internship in 2022 in the team « Chimie Organique et Hétérochimie Appliquées » (COHA, LIMA, UMR 7042) under the supervision of Dr. Armen Panossian and Dr. Gilles Hanquet. In 2022, he started a PhD position in the team « Biomolecules, Synthesis & Methods » under the supervision of Dr. Vincent Bizet.

Yurii ZUBCHUK

Yurii Zubchuk obtained a master’s degree in physical chemistry at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2012. He did his master’s internship in 2012 under the supervision of Dr. Olexenko Liudmyla P. (professor of Chemistry at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) and Dr. Gorbyk Petro P. (head of Department of Nanomaterials of Chuiko Institute of Surface Chemistry National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). Since 2010 till 2022 he had been working in a big worldwide chemical industrial company Enamine Ltd as a chemist. The main interest during his work was the development of a new synthetic method for the preparation organic compounds, mainly 5-membered azaheterocycles: pyrazoles, oxazoles, isoxasoles, imidazoles, triazoles, etc. Since 2020 till 2022 he had been working in collaborations with Tango Therapeutics as a FTE project team member. In 2022, he started a PhD position in the « Biomolecules, Synthesis & Methods » group under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Laurent Simon (IS2M).

Floriane RENE

Floriane René obtained her degree of Engineer in chemistry (majoring in organic chemistry) and her Master's degree in molecular and macromolecular chemistry from ENSCMu in 2024. During her studies, she took a gap year and worked as a trainee in medicinal chemistry in the Wymann group at the department of biomedicine of the University of Basel, and also as a Junior Research Associate at SpiroChem (a Swiss CRO). Going back to Mulhouse, she spent 6 months in the BSM research group under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet. She is now a PhD student in the same team, working on the synthesis of molecules containing emerging fluorine motifs.

Louis Vrot

Louis Vrot obtained a chemical engineering degree from the ENSCMu (National College of Chemical Engineering of Mulhouse) with a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Upper-Alsace of Mulhouse in 2025. He did his Master internship in the team “Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methods” under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Blanchard and Dr. Vincent Bizet. In 2025, he started a PhD position in the same group and supervision, where he develops his research about the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles by cascade Diels–Alder reactions.

Cyril Clairotte

Cyril Clairotte obtained a Master's degree in Polymer and Materials from the National School of Chemical Engineering of Mulhouse (ENSCMu) in 2025, as well as a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Mulhouse. The same year, he started a PhD within the "Biomolecules, Synthesis and Methods" team under the supervision of Dr. Vincent Bizet and Dr. Laurent Simon (IS2M). His research focuses on a multidisciplinary project aimed at developping new types of polymers. This work is carried out in collaboration between the "Laboratoire d'Innovation Moléculaire et Applications" (LIMA) and the "Institut de Science des Matériaux de Mulhouse" (IS2M).

Thomas Gherardi

Thomas Gherardi obtained a master’s degree in molecular and macromolecular chemistry at the University of Upper-Alsace and a chemical engineering degree from the National School of Chemical Engineering of Mulhouse (ENSCMu) in 2024. He did his master’s internship at the company Novalix in Strasbourg and spent 6 months in the Catalysis Lab of Novartis in Basel. In 2025, he started a PhD position in the team “Biomolecules, Synthesis & Methods” under the supervision of Dr. Vincent Bizet and Dr. Nicolas Blanchard, where he develops his research about asymmetric synthesis of fluorinated compounds using high-throughput experimentation.

Matthieu Floccari

After a preparatory class, he joined the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier (ENSCM), where he obtained a general engineering degree. During his training, he specialized in the field of materials science, both organic and inorganic. He is currently pursuing a thesis jointly conducted within the LIMA and LPIM laboratories under the supervision of Prof. Céline Croutxé-Barghorn and Dr. Nicolas Blanchard. His work focuses on the synthesis of monomers with adaptable covalent bonds for 3D printing by photopolymerization.
